Aims: To complete the annual CQC refresher training and practical assessments

Objectives

  • To refresh their knowledge of new and existing care standards and guidance
  • To reflect upon their current practise
  • Be able to better support their organisation in the CQC inspection process

Target audience

This course is the annual refresher training for existing Health and Social Care staff:  it is not suitable or recommended for staff without existing social care and health experience (it is class based training with practical skill assessment elements of resuscitation, infection control and manual handling).

Commentary:

This course involves a combination of theory and practical training, incorporating case discussion, classroom learning activities and practical assessments. It covers the CQC mapped statutory annual refresher training requirements, is valid for 1 year and includes the practical skills assessment requirements. It provides a broad overview of the CQC inspection process to enable staff to better support their organisations when inspected and included the lasts guidance on several key area.

Please be aware, as stated, it is only suitable for staff with existing social care and health care experience. Candidates without the suitable experience will be required to attend more in-depth training in order to achieve a safe and proficient standard in the areas covered.
